His comments have angered Shiv Sena & their supremo Bal Thackeray. Shiv Sena burnt Effigies of King Khan in Mumbai and have asked him to seek apology. But Srk is in no mood to say sorry.

Shiv Sena activists have warned theater owners in Mumbai not to screen the latest movie of Shahrukh Khan- My Name is Khan. The Film is due to release on 12th February, 2010.

As per Shahrukh Khan “I have no idea what I am supposed to apologise for.”

“So many people’s futures rely on (My Name is Khan). I just request everybody to leave the film alone and deal with what I have said as an individual.”

“I am sorry to director Karan Johal and actress Kajol. I’m also immensely sorry to all the other business partners that – because of what I say and believe in – the film and their work is going to be affected. I have no idea how to change that.”

It is ironical that while the Aman Ki Asha initiative is going strong, Mr.Shahrukh Khan’s efforts to bring the Pakistani cricket players into the IPL has evoked such a strong reaction from the Shiv Sena.

SRK, I’ve just seen your interview with Barkha Dutt on NDTV regarding the Shiv Sena issue. Before I go on to give you my testimonial, let me just begin by telling you, I SUPPORT YOU! a 100%.

I completely understand what you have been put through. It is hurtful, humiliating and extremely awkward for you and your family. To be victimised in a secular, democratic country for publicly voicing your opinion, brings out the hypocritical nature of our country. We all accept this and use it ourselves and mock ourselves at our own cost.

You do not have to be sorry to any of the producers or distributors or even to the cast and crew of your film, because the comments passed weren’t about the film, or it’s concept, but about an individual-YOU. I’m sure each one of us wholly understands the comprimising position you have been put into.

We are one country, if problems arise we must be able to resolve it amongst each other, not make it such a sensational news item that spreads fire across the world.

YOU are as much INDIAN as TAJ MAHAL is. We have benefited through your ambassadorship through the years. You have been able to bring us recognition the way others may only have dreamed of doing.

Yes, you are a public figure, but that doesn’t mean, you must eat, drink, sleep, live or die as the public instructs you to. People must understand that you do what you are doing now because you can afford to accomplish all this for the nation.

It’s refreshing to see this side of you. I know it’s painful for you to have opened out so much and played your cards (in this case, words) so thoughtfully. Although I am a no-one, I would just like to put across the fact very plainly, that I am very proud of you and absolutely stand by you. I would have done the same had it been a friend, or even someone I didn’t know, like yourself. The thought and it’s executed action impressed me and I wanted to let you know. <3
